Veena Suite is a free collection of precision practice tools built specifically for Carnatic musicians. Whether you play the Saraswati Veena, sing, or play another classical instrument, our tools are designed to support your daily practice with accuracy and simplicity.
Our Tools
Veena Tuner
A highly sensitive chromatic tuner optimized for the unique acoustic properties of the Saraswati Veena. It uses the YIN pitch detection algorithm with a median filter and exponential smoothing to detect even the softest plucks accurately. All 7 strings (S1 through S4 and T1 through T3) are supported, each with tuned tolerance and stabilization settings.
Talam Metronome
A visual Carnatic rhythm engine that guides you through all 10 Sapta and Chapu Talams with hand gesture indicators (Thattu, Veechu, and finger counts). Supports all 5 Jaathis with configurable BPM, a distinct Samam downbeat, and real-time progress dots. Built for students and performers who need to internalize Kalapramanam.
Shruti Box
A high-quality digital drone for all 12 pitches from C (1 Katte) to B (7 Katte). Uses pre-recorded clean audio samples for an authentic tanpura-like experience during vocal or instrumental practice.

Privacy
We take your privacy seriously. The Veena Tuner uses your microphone only while the tuner is actively running. We do not store, transmit, or record any audio. Analytics are collected anonymously via Firebase to help us improve the app. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
